Teresa Carillo
Teresa was born and raised in Turin, Italy, and she moved to the USA in 2012 to join her Italian husband, who had already moved to the Country for work. They live in Northampton, and they have two adorable children, Noe, 6, and Stella, 3. Stella is currently enrolled at People’s Institute.
Back in 2002 Teresa obtained a Master degree in Architecture and Design presenting a final thesis centered on a new project for a Modern and Organic Early Education Center. Since she moved to the USA she has been providing childcare for children, ages 1-9 as well as tutoring Italian for a couple of siblings.
She started working at People’s Institute in 2019, and is currently enrolled In the Early Education Cohort program at GCC to pursue a vocational career in Early Education. Teaching, Psychology, and Art have always been her big passions since she was very young. She loves to work with young children, challenging their incredible enthusiastic explorative learning minds, promoting development in all areas through full emotional, sensory experiences and play.
She enjoys reading and exploring stories with children, as well as engaging them in creative projects through the use of various materials and techniques, such as music, dance, and crafts. She is excited to learn about the children and their families, their culture and background, and different language if other than English is spoken at home.
She works hard to encourage and foster empathy, inclusion, kindness and respect. When not in school she enjoys spending time with her close family and friends, working on house projects, and traveling to Italy to spend time with her family and friends over there.
